Because of Wendy, I am sad today. Because of Wendy, I learned that every song could be turned into a folk song. Because of Wendy, I became a monster. Because of Wendy, the Hockaday dress code has been expanded to include pajama pants. Because of Wendy, I wrote beat poetry. Because of Wendy, I learned that deadlines were merely a suggestion. Because of Wendy, I got through my first year at school in New York. Because of Wendy, I tried Indian food. Because of Wendy, I found love for the first time. Because of Wendy, I learned that you could order a hamburger without the meat at McDonalds. Because of Wendy, I never felt unimportant.
Some of the happiest moments in my life are because of Wendy, and along with my condolences, I extend my deepest gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Soltero and Karen for bringing Wendy into my world. Everlasting be her memory.
