the more that i think about wendy and all of the wonderful things that we got to do together...the happier i feel. whether we were living and working at a homeless shelter in new mexico or dancing til dawn on the beaches of belize or for that matter, tricking our friends into eating shelfish/tamarindo pizza (we all would do anything for wendy) she was always the same wonderful wendy. caring, compassionate, loving and most of all genuine. i could always just be myself when i was with her. there was no pretending...just the feeling of contentment.
wendy gave me a present once saying...always remember me and how much i love you. five years later, from the dorm at school, to the apartment that i shared with wendy in austin, to my place that i have now in seattle...i have kept it as a reminder of my wonderful friend wendy and how much i love her.
this weekend was amazing being surrounded by so many people who love and care for wendy. she was one of the greatest people that i have ever had the priviledge of meeting in my life...she also introduced me to some of my best friends. she brought fun, excitement, love and devotion into my life...i will always be greatful for knowing her and her amazing family.
my thoughts are with all of you who were touched by wendy and feel her loss. remember the bad and the good...let her live on in all of us.
