I knew Wendy in short, intense doses. Our friendship practically grew out of nowhere-I'm not even sure where it began, I figure we were probably shooting the breeze over a cigarette one day. We talked a lot about love with each other, romantic interests in her life, as well as mine. I went long periods of time without speaking to Wendy, but, invariably, we would always pick up right where we left off when we would see each other on holidays. Amazing, she was someone that would enable you to step right into the mud of a deep, awkward topic (such as young love), yet you wouldn't feel awkward at all. It was like a breath of fresh air. Wendy allowed me to explore the mishaps and successes of my own life with the humorous support of her infectious good heart. With so many complicated feelings engulfing friends and family after her abrupt passing, I couldn't help but find a very simple notion that defined her over and over again to me.

Wendy gave me the priceless opportunity to meet the angels of my better nature.

Thank you dear friend, I am eternally grateful.
