Since I first met Wendy seven years ago, when she and Bria went to see the Ideal Females at Club Dada, she has been an integral part of my life. She brought so much joy into my life. It is hard to believe, but she could ALWAYS make me smile. And yes, to do away with any rumors, we had a pact that if we both reached the age of thirty-five without marrying someone else, we would get married.

I am so grateful for the time and moments I had with Wendy. I feel so blessed to have known her and to have shared the time that we did. She was an incredible friend to me and wonderfully supportive.

One weekend we visited Elayna up at Vassar. Come the end of the weekend, the two of us were riding the Hudson Line south to our respective schools. Honestly, I was dreading the return, as I always did. But she calmed me and helped me through, reminding me that it wouldn't be long before I could return home. And she supported me throughout my entire experience up there. In fact, she took to introducing me, matter-of-factly, as, "This is my friend Joey. He blows stuff up, drives tanks, and jumps out of airplanes."

Another memorable time, I went to visit her last spring. Looking forward to my first trip to California, I show up to find that she has pneumonia. So I played 'Nurse Joey' for the next few days. Anyway, she gets better and decides that she will show me a good time in L.A. before I leave. She wanted to cram all of L.A. into one night. So mid-way through the evening I find myself in a bar with a mechanical bull, which Wendy decided was right up my alley. I tried to convince her otherwise to no avail. Well, a few beers, a couple shots, and quite a bit of coaxing later I find myself riding that bull, but I can say that I have ridden a mechanical bull now.

I remember the last time I saw Wendy. I took her for a ride in my new car. After a few sharp corners and some quick accelerating, she said she could now see how fast cars could be sexy.

But of all of my memories, none make me feel as warm as our last conversation, just two weeks ago. It was amiable and light hearted, trying to catch up on all of the occurences in the other's life. Trying to pinpoint the next time we would see each other. The last thing she said to me was "I love you." And I said, "I love you too."

I know she will always be there for me when I need support, when I need to smile. She always was, and she always will be. I love you too, Wendy.
