I remember the first day of the King and I rehearsals… I remember waiting outside the rehearsal room for quite some time before I gathered up enough courage to walk in. I could hear peals of laughter echoing out into the hall. As I walked in, I could feel my legs faltering beneath me. I was so nervous I wasn’t sure I would make it to the only vacant seat in the room. I made it. As luck would have it, I sat down next to Wendy.
I remember Winter Formal, Freshman Year… Robbie and Chris – our two dates. She and Robbie talked about the latest episode of Star Trek as they tore up the dance floor. Chris and I were less talkative!
I remember how Wendy and I loved Boxers more than anything… Rosie, Cimeron, Sammy, Emma, George and Maggie May.
I remember how Wendy and I went to Jason Henry’s birthday party… Didn’t stay there long, did we Wendy?
I remember staying up until the wee hours… Talking about boys usually.
I remember a phone call from Wendy… It was a couple of months after leaving Dallas. She told me to loose the New York accent.
Karen and Mr. and Mrs. Soltero - Thank you for Wendy. She is a bright star that will shine in our lives forever.
