Hi Everyone :)

It's taken me a long time to post something here :)

This is my speech from Wendy Day...

"Hi. I'm not very good at giving speeches but I had to do this because Wendy would have wanted me to. And I know that Wendy would be proud of me already for just standing up here--so I could probably get down now. But I guess it's not so bad, especially if I just read my speech like this. As most of you know, Wendy and I have been best friends since we were 3. There is so much I want to say about her--like how she loved the rain and I know she loves it that it's raining today--One time we went out in her front yeard during a thunderstorm and washed our hair in it.. The memories I have of our times together are truly endless and everywhere I go I'm reminded of one of them--All of them make me smile. Here at this church once, Wendy sang a cabaret song on top of a piano. She used to come over to my house on Christmas morning and check out the candy in my stocking. And there's Penny Whistle Park, the playground at the Children's Center, Barbies, and birthday mornings at IHOP. Wendy was such a huge part of my life and she was there for every milestone. We loved to watch CHIPS and The Dukes of Hazzard together--she wanted to be Daisy. Back in the 80s when Michael Jackson was cool, she told me that she was going to marry him one day. I believed her. There wasn't anything she couldn't do--except maybe a cartwheel. Wendy was the most amazing person I will ever know. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not in awe of her talent, her personality, and our amazing friendship. She was so generous, so special--so wonderfully Wendy. I couldn't be more proud or more honored to have been her friend for the last 20 years."
