I was able to celebrate our birthday twice, once with Elizabeth Duffy and once with Jessica. On our actual birthday, Elizabeth and I hit the streets of New York and drank chocolate martinis. Well, I drank chocolate martinis and Elizabeth had sips. We passed by a bar called the Monster Bar and thought, a-ha! this is oerfect! But it was a bar only for gay men, and we were on the lookout for cute straight boys. We stayed out way too late and had as good of a time as we could. We cried, but we laughed too. I celebrated our birthday for the second time Saturday night. Jessica and I saw a movie, and I was inspired. I bought some candles and placed them on Wendy's grave and lit them and sang. They were so beautiful. Don't worry - we had fire precautions. Although Wendy would laugh her ass off if I accidentally set fire to the cemetery, I would find it significantly less funny. So... we lit the candles, and started singing, and a super-light rains started. Jess said, Wait Wendy, we're not done singing, and the rain immediately stopped right after she said that. Interesting. I bought some pretty wavy candles and also got some of the re-light kind. They say "Can't blow 'em out!" on the box. That's how I think of the Wendy-spirit that lives on with all of us. No matter how hard you try, you just can't blow it out. Happy birthday to my one and only birthday bud.
