I guess its hard sometimes to tell stories without ending them "I guess you just had to be there," but I will do my best anyhow.

Wendy and I needed to pick up some wood for our sculpture projects, so one sunny LA day we headed off to everyone's favorite lumberyard. Needless to say, we were a bit different from the usual "construction worker" crowd. So we had a grand time checking out power tools then making our way through the huge airplane hanger type structure with all the lumber. Have you ever tried to transport 6 pieces of 1.5x 8 ft and 1 piece of 4x6 ft wood? Ah, its quite a fun experience. First of all, you must have rope, which of course Wendy happened to have in abundance. Then you need to OPEN the car doors so that you do not TIE THEM SHUT. Very important detail. Then you get one person on each side of the car and just start improvising. It took me and Wendy about 10 minutes, and the drive back to Oxy was filled with our conversation on "so, when do you think this stuff is going to fly off the roof into the highway?" Luckily for all LA commuters it never did.

I wish everyone strength and hope.
