Wendy and I were not super close, but we were definitely cool. I can't help but thing how surreal this is because things like this are not suppose to happen to the young and certainly not to daisies, and that is why my mother sent me to school at Hockaday to escape the realities of the world around me. This summer I went to California to work and all I thought about was Wendy. For us to not have been best of friends it is still very haunting. I will always remember Wendy and our special moments in english. I will always think of her this time of year because she left us the day after my birthday, so when I celebrate my birthday, and will always have a moment of silence for the girl who made me hold her hand when she read poetry. Though I hated english at Hockaday, beleive it or not, it was two people there, who made me see its beauty and that was Ms. Tong and Wendy Soltero. Wendy use to encourage me to write, and oneday I wrote a peice about aids and Wendy made me feel like it was a work of a genius, thanks Wendy. Sincerely, Tonya
