Wendy was in my art class, and though I did not get many chances to talk to her personally, her participation in the class contributed a lot to our discussions and she definitely made me think about things on several occasions. Her presence will be very missed not only in my class and on our campus, but on this Earth as well. After I had heard about what happened, the horrid image has not been able to escape my mind and that reflected in the poem I had written that same day:
If it hurts this much to lose a stranger, I can't imagine how grievous it must be To watch a close one's life just shatter As they sat so close to me
I'm left in total disarray Wondering when will G-d take me away Or when will he rob me of another Whether they are strangers or my monther
Must I live each day in fear Of those to whom He gave no heart Or can I ever feel safe here And know with no one I will part
But already I'm aware That those with whom my life I share, With whom my life is so complete Can leave me in a heartbeat
How sad to think when I awake That ruthless people do exist And the lives they simply take Leave their victims dead and missed
With great sympathy and sorrow to all who knew Wendy, Sasha
