Words cannot describe my sadness at hearing the news about Wendy just two weeks ago. I am so terribly sorry for the loss. Although I go through my daily motions, my heart aches. I feel such a great pain in my heart and have such a feeling of total disbelief. I keep thinking this is all a bad dream, a terrible nightmare.
My sister, Barbara, said the memorial for Wendy was beautiful. She said it was the most moving and touching ceremony she ever attended. Please know that the soltero's have been in my family's toughts and prayers daily.
I have such wonderful memories of Wendy. I remember my father rushing Beth to the hospital for her arrival because Gene was out of town. I think my dad was as excited for Wendy's birth as he was for his own daughter's arrivals!
I remember Wendy when she was just a newborn baby. I remember years of Christmas holidays we celebrated together, our family and yours. I remember Gene playing the piano as we all sang Christmas carols together. I remember Gene bringing Karen and Wendy over to our house for pancake breakfasts on Saturday mornings so that Beth could get a little extra sleep! I remember watching Wendy grow-up to be a flower girl in my wedding. I remember seeing Wendy after years of being apart and having her give me the biggest, warmest hug and all the years between our last visit together just disappeared.
While we were growing up on Hillgreen Drive, both Karen and Wendy were like extended sisters to us. Even after our family moved away, we always looked forward to your family's annual Christmas picture. It was a wonderful way to see how Karen and Wendy were growing up.
Our family was so happy to see Beth at Margaret's wedding. It was great to have the time to catch up on everything. As I look back on my memories of our family together, I still picture Karen and Wendy playing out in the back yard. You all will always be a big part of our family.
We are all blessed to have known Wendy. Please take care of yourselves.
