I think about Wendy all the time. My favorite Robert Frost poem keeps poppping into my head. "Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf a flower; But only so an hour." It seems as time stretches over the cosmos that Wendy was barely here an hour. Long enough to touch people's hearts. Long enough to fall in love with her and want more. It's been very hard for me to grasp the reality of her death. And I wish there was some unrealistic, fantastical way to turn the clock back and change the events. Like many people I just assumed she'd be a part of my life for a long time. I can't make sense of this or come to a resolve on a spiritual level. Is life? Is every day just a pull of the handle on a slot machine. I think of her often and have my weepy times. But I know whatever I'm feeling is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what Beth, Gene and Karen are feeling. It helps me, when I'm really feelings sad to think of funny Wendy things. One of the thoughts I like the most; that tickle me is Wendy's floppy slippers. Wendy loved to wear her slippers. She always seemed to have unique, funny, big, floppy slippers. She touched so many people's lives. She was and is truly the golden child: "Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower: But only so an hour. In Autum she achieves a much more golden blaze; But nothing gold can stay.
Natures first greens are golds; Her hardest hues to hold. Her early leaves are flowers. But only so for hours. Then leaves subside to leaves. So Eden sank to grief; As dawn goes down to day Nothing gold can stay. A golden child is also a child who is a highly evolved spiritual being and she was! Love Mother Mary
